Outlook for Construction in California: What to Expect

The California General Contractors Association (California AGC) has been a leader in the construction industry since 1920, providing promotion, education, professional development and networking opportunities for experienced and next-generation construction and contracting professionals. Construction Equipment Guide is a great resource for those in the industry, as it covers the entire country with its four regional newspapers. These publications provide news and information about construction and industry, along with new and used construction equipment for sale at dealerships in your area. To gain insight into the outlook for construction in California, the California AGC conducted a survey of its members. The survey participants included 56 percent of contractor members, 20.2 percent of associate members, 16.5 percent of specialized contractors, and 7.3 percent were unsure.

The survey covered the vertical building construction division (56 percent), the highway and transportation division (47.7 percent) and the public services and infrastructure division (31.2 percent). The results of the survey showed that most contractors are optimistic about the future of construction in California. The majority of respondents reported that they expect to see an increase in business activity over the next 12 months. This is good news for those in the industry, as it indicates that there will be more opportunities for work in the near future. However, there are still some challenges that contractors will need to face. The cost of materials is expected to remain high, which could make it difficult for contractors to stay competitive.

Additionally, labor shortages could be an issue, as there is a lack of skilled workers available to fill positions. Despite these challenges, there is still reason to be optimistic about the future of construction in California. With the right strategies in place, contractors can take advantage of new opportunities and continue to grow their businesses.
